Caring For Your daylily
Plants
Daylilies are an easy perennial
to grow. After planting, the daily or weekly maintenance is minimum.
Water, daylilies love it.
Watering once or twice a week is recommended when the weather
does not provide enough.
But Daylily plants do not want to be soggy so find a happy medium
for your soil type.
First thing in the spring the
old foliage should be removed.
When your daylily plants begin
to bloom, removing the old flowers makes for a fresh neat look.
This procedure is called deadheading.
Removing old dry leaves from the bottom will also keep your daylily
plants and garden
looking good through out the growing season.
Removal of the flower stalks
or scapes can be done as the last flowers finish the bloom cycle.
